We know from experience that entrepreneurs usually spend far too much time raising the capital to build their business, leaving too little time to fully realise its potential.
We help propel each of our portfolio companies from a business with promise and potential – but often little tangible success – to become a rapidly growing market leader within their field.
We only back companies that are guided by strong values-led management and committed to building products and/or services that will achieve leadership positions in their global markets.
So how do we achieve this?
- Identify great people and businesses and capitalise these ventures
- Appoint an ORB Managing Partner to take a pragmatic, hands-on mentoring role
- Encourage our portfolio companies to adopt aggressive commercialisation and funding strategies
- Actively manage pre-IPO capital raising activities on behalf of the Board
We do this a little differently in that we always strive to adopt the role of the director who says ‘why don’t you try this’ or ‘have you thought about pursing this opportunity’ as opposed to ‘no, you can’t do that.’ It is a subtle difference but one that both our entrepreneurs and our principal investor appreciate.
